- September - Out of Order forms in Berwyn
- September 5, 1983 - Effigies play Tuts with Savage Beliefs. The infamous gig that degenerated into a confrontation between fans of the Effigies and Articles of Faith. According to a review in Last Rites #5, the audience "drew into two camps", with some audience members calling the Effigies "rock stars" and criticizing them for playing too slowly.
