Earl Letiecq was the original guitarist for The Effigies. Originally from upstate New York, Earl met up with John Kezdy shortly after moving to Chicago in or around 1980. He was with the Effigies until 1984. Earl was also a member of Jack Scratch with Dave Bergeron of Bloodsport in the late 80s and early 90s and has played with The Beer Nuts. He participated in reunions with The Effigies in 1992 and 1995/96 but has not been part of any later reunions. Earl was often known by his nickname Oil Slick.
