The Subverts were one of the earlier Chicago punk bands around, forming in 1979. Originally from Dekalb, they are most well known for playing lots of shows in the early 80s and being on the Busted at Oz compilation. Some of the members played in spurts for Ring 13.
In August 22 2009, The Subverts reformed to play the Abbey Pub with Blatant Dissent, Ring 13, happy hunting and Otis Ball and The Chains.
