My name is jamie, I was active in the Chicago punk scene since '89 technically when my brother would take me to all ages shows. By 1995 I was immersed in the scene at that time and played in the band Blue Collar (not to be confused with Blue Collar Nation). We played briefly at The Underground Lounge on weekends, Silvies on punk rock nights, etc. I wrote for a few small zines. I lived at the El Rancho Orphanage

I am a journalist by trade and am glad to be a part of contributing to this very needed and important Wiki.

The Tarts

Just saw your page! I could be mixing up my bands, but I want to say Fritz (current Raygun bassist) may have been in the Tarts. I want to say Bill Stephens from Raygun was also in it? I kind of remember Fritz telling me (when he bartended at Quenchers) that he and Bill were in a band together around that time. Gantry (talk) 16:52, 18 May 2023 (UTC)

Thinking back, that makes total sense. In fact I'm almost positive that Fritz was a member. I saw them twice and had a few conversations with Steve both after the shows and when MBB reunited after The Tarts were no more - one conversation took place when I had done the sound for a MBB / The Bomb show . I definitely want to adhere to verifiable facts, but being that we both remember this, I think it warrants an update. I was hesitant to even recreate the page but I knew Steve for quite sometime through a mutual friend, and they were quite a band.

I hear you, friend! Despite my good long term memory, there are many, dare I say, 'hazy' moments; especially back then! I will update the page as appropriately as I am able, and hopefully we may be able to glean some information / confirmation from some of the other long time contributors... AnarchistiCookie [[1]] for example comes to mind. I no longer have a contact for Steve, but he always seemed a bit uncomfortable talking about that particular band, which I totally respected and still do. Music making can be a beautiful but complicated thing. Just glad to still be a part of this very important Wiki that in my eyes is the most comprehensive site on the web for general info on most to all of the Chicago bands that made up the scene from the beginning up to the early 2000s. Let's keep it going!
