Mark Delguidice
"HarpO" Mark Delguidice worked at Neo and Smart Bar Metro through the early 80's. He got the name HarpO from Chicago bluesmaster Big Walter Horton , who he used to bug and learn from, hanging at the Kingston Mines.
He started as a bar back at Neo, and worked into occasional bar tending, then off to Metro - painting, fixing speakers, sound, dj booth, doing security, and mixing monitors upstairs. He was a musician as well, working on many exp. industrial projects that stayed underground, also did an industrial psychedelic installation one night at Smart Bar with stacks of manipulated TV sets and weird music and live drumming circles..almost got a record deal with MCA for a project called Mobile Intelligence, with a song Naked Agression.
Got to assist Will Northener on an incredible painting on all four walls of the private 4th floor club on top of Metro, which was for the Grand openeing of Joes, the private club. The design was a series of cartoon characters and patterns , awsome stuff. also was designated to greet each guest on the Grand Openeing nite [new Years eve-88?]of the private club, and personally give out all the orig Black Joes cards.
Hung out and assisted sevral legendary bands, bugged folks at Chicago traxx, eventually left for San Francsico and helped Jeremy Cowan open and build BPM records and Frshly Squeezed Studios, where he was the office manger, reporting to Billboard weekly and dealing with crazy artists. Then formed a Sound Co. that did many major and minor underground Raves with a trademark RaveDriver Sound System. Also managed Goth rock legend God'S Girlfriend for sevral years.
Now lives n San Diego, and has a Band, HarpCo that plays "Folk Rockin Blues" in dive bars around town for insults and beer.
