Autumn Records was quite possibly the first punk rock label in Chicago. Run by George Kapoulas, they released the seminal compilation Busted at Oz along with the Effigies first EP. According to Terry Nelson, who was partner in Autumn, the label was originally conceived as a vehicle for Da [1].
Steve Albini said in 1986 that "Autumm Records, from my understanding, was this tax dodge for a real estate investor or something like that."
