Jon Babbin was the manager of The Effigies and one of the longest and most important supporters of the Chicago scene. Starting all the way back around 1980, Babbin has managed bands, released zines, and ran record labels. According to a 2006 interview with John Kezdy, he and Jon Babbin had known each other since the second grade and the two shared a basement apartment in Evanston with another friend in the early days of The Effigies.
