Toucan Slam was based in Olney, Illinois, Southeast of Springfield, just outside of Robinson, almost a 4 hour trip by car to Chicago. Despite their distance, Toucan Slam became a semi-regular at the Fireside Bowl in the mid to later 1990's. They released one album, Doin' Stuff with Roy Scherer, and appeared on a couple of compilations.
