Ken Mierzwa was one of the early Chicago scene's most prolific writers and photographers. Writing for The Coolest Retard and snapping photos of bands from 1979 to 1982, Ken's output is one of the most valuable historical references of the scene during this time. Ken's documented his time in the scene in the self-published book Ephemeral Creation, one of the best reads about that era and now in it's third edition.
Ken works as an environmental consultant and continues to photograph and mentor younger photographers as a creative outlet. He currently resides in northern California.
