Although it was recorded in [[1982]], [[Trial By Fire]]'s record was never released at the time. After thirty five years [[Alona's Dream Records]] finally gave it a formal release. The sounds holds up today and could very well have been the first hardcore record from a Chicago band. You'll notice many songs that have been done by other bands, including the famous opener to [[Naked Raygun]]'s ''Vanilla Blue''. '''Rob Warmowski''' was the founding bassist and lead singer for [[The Defoliants]] who were active from [[1984]] to [[1989]]. In [[1985]] the band (Rob, [[Chuck Uchida]] and [[Jeff Cohn|Jeff "BBQ" Cohn]]) released a cassette called "Now How Much Would You Pay For It?", a 7" EP titled "Hang Ten" in [[1987]] on Chicago label [[Pravda Records]], and a LP titled "Grrr" on the Berlin label Angry Fish Music in 1989. <br>

In [[1991]], Rob founded Buzzmuscle with [[Greg Dunlap]], [[Dave Schleitwiler]] of [[Bhopal Stiffs]] and Brian Gay of [[Savage Beliefs]]. That band broke up in [[1994]] after releasing two 7"s ("Assembler/33 Degrees" and "Comedian / 12 Step") as well as winning graphic design honors by the US National Design Museum / Smithsonian for the "Assembler" package. Buzzmuscle completed but did not release an LP named "Stayeth". <br><br>
In 2000, Rob appeared on Califone's second self-titled EP released on RoadCone records. Rob also played bass on the theme music for the 1997 TV comedy show "Upright Citizen's Brigade" as part of a combo named "The Real Welders". Between 1999 and 2002, Rob worked for the small Chicago independent label Perishable Records, art-directing and project-managing label projects including Califone, Fruit Bats, The Fire Show, Frontier and many others. <br><br>

Work began in late 2012 on a second San Andreas Fault full-length for 2013 release. <br><br>

In 2008 SIRS released the 7" "Billy The Kidney / Fast Eddie and Curtis" on the Unicut Records label. SIRS included drummer Mike Greenlees ([[Blatant Dissent]] / [[Tar]]) and bassist Tony Jones (Sixteen Tons) with Rob on guitar and vocals. In August 2011, SIRS released the [http://sirs.bandcamp.com 4-song 12" EP "Boo Hoo"]. Mike Greenlees has since left, replaced on drums by Andy Kosinski. <br><br>
In 2013, SIRS released the full-length "High Minors". The record includes guest appearances by [[John Haggerty]] of [[Naked Raygun]] / [[Pegboy]] and Thymme Jones of [[Cheer-Accident]]. <br><br>
With animator Heather Smith, he created, wrote, directed, voice-acted, scored and engineered the online web comedy cartoon series "Officer Bob" in 2008.
Rob now records as [http://soundcloud.com/allende Allende] and works as an independent technical and creative writer, producer and educator. He is also a contributor to the sports website [http://www.cantstopthebleeding.com/ Can't Stop The Bleeding], writing mainly about the Chicago White Sox.

In 2013, Rob and San Andreas Fault were commissioned by Chicago's Redmoon Theatre to compose the music for the Winter Pageant show, a Bollywood/surf production with 40 dancers, giant robotic vehicles and live performance by the Fault.

In 2014 The Fault released the 7" single "Blowne Leafe" b/w "Voight-Kamff"

In 2018, The Fault released a six song EP entitled "Black Ribbon", recording by Andy Gerber (Local H. Smoking Popes)

Rob passed away suddenly on September 1, 2019 at the age of 52. Rob was a longtime contributor to this site and a lifetime contributor to this scene. We love you Rob...

With animator Heather Smith, he created, wrote, directed, voice-acted, scored and engineered the online web comedy cartoon series "Officer Bob" in 2008.
Rob now records as [http://soundcloud.com/allende Allende] and works as an independent technical and creative writer, producer and educator. He is also a contributor to the sports website [http://www.cantstopthebleeding.com/ Can't Stop The Bleeding], writing mainly about the Chicago White Sox.

In 2013, Rob and San Andreas Fault were commissioned by Chicago's Redmoon Theatre to compose the music for the Winter Pageant show, a Bollywood/surf production with 40 dancers, giant robotic vehicles and live performance by the Fault.

In 2014 The Fault released the 7" single "Blowne Leafe" b/w "Voight-Kamff"

In 2018, The Fault released a six song EP entitled "Black Ribbon", recording by Andy Gerber (Local H. Smoking Popes)

Rob passed away suddenly on September 1, 2019 at the age of 52.

After the Defoiliants, Uchida ran the Attica Recording Studio in Wicker Park (recording acts included [[Apocalypse Hoboken]], Trepan Nation, Old 97s and [[Los Crudos]]) and also ran [[Club Foot]] for a period. Chuck also played guitar in [[No Empathy]] from [[1990]] to [[1996]]. He is currently in The Sonnets and I Love Rich.

'''The Defoliants''' were a Chicago punk band from [[1984]] to [[1990]]. They played a bunch of shows for that time, typically opening up for larger Chicago bands such as [[Naked Raygun]]. Their self-described finest moment was opening up for Fugazi at [[Dreamerz]]. Their music incorporated heavily from surf music, making their sound more unique than most of their contemporaries.

The final Defoliants show was at [[McGregor's]].
