'''Infections''' were a punk band from the south side of Chicago. Founding members [[Jeff Fields]] (drums/vocals) and [[Brian Laff]] (guitar/vocals) met while both were attending Moraine Valley Community College in the spring of 1981. They recruited Jeff's brother Larry, alias Larz, (bass) and began rehearsing in the Brothers' garage. After Larz had left the band they acquired a new partner in crime, John Cornelison, JC for short (bass/vocals). After compiling a set's worth of original songs which totaled 50 or more, they hit the Chicago and suburban club circuit. Opened several shows for Chicago scene veterans [[Bohemia]] before branching out to their own bookings. [[Cubby Bear]], [[Space Place]], [[Exit]], [[C.O.D.]], [[Metro]] (in support of The Exploited and Blackouts), the Edifice in Joliet were some of the venues they played from '81 through early '83. The band then relocated to DeKalb (via NIU) and played in and around the Rockford/DeKalb area before disbanding in early 1984.
