The Front Lines were an early punk band from the Evanston/Northwestern area, who played from 1979-1983. Starting out briefly as a more rock-based band The Lines in 1979, The Front Lines recorded a couple demos, a 4-song EP and another single during their lifetime. They were one of the more prominent bands (along with Epicycle) in what Steve Albini called a "North Shore Miniscene" - and although they did play the Northwestern campus & outlying region, The Front Lines played all over Chicago including O'Banions, Misfits, COD, Waves etc.
