Problem Dogs were formed on the south side of Chicago in 1980.  The band met each other as College station DJs at The University Of Illinois and Chicago Circle.  Rick (Rik) Radtke played guitar and sang.  John Connors played Lead guitar, Al Kizys played Bass, and Demetra (Dee) Plakas drummed.

Around 1982, Algis Kizys departed the band to go to New York and with The Bag People.  The band went through several bass players including Pat Kenny and Larry Parks.
