Jim Skafish was the frontman of Skafish and quite possibly the biggest name in the Chicago punk/prepunk/newwave/whatever scene before 1980. He also recieved notoriety in the 1980s as one of the more prominent alt-rock DJs for WXRT. Though his name isn't well known beyond members of the scene, Jim Skafish is in some ways the "godfather" of the Chicago punk scene.
