Notable Chicago Punk Events in 1983
- January - Matter #1 is released
- January 21 - Naked Raygun plays the Metro; one of the few known Raygun gigs with both Santiago Durango and John Haggerty on guitar
- September - Out of Order forms in Berwyn
- September 5 - Effigies play Tuts with Savage Beliefs. The infamous gig that degenerated into a confrontation between fans of the Effigies and Articles of Faith.
